Description
Position Title: Generator Service Technician
Locations: West Palm Beach, FL & North of Richmond, VA
Shift: Monday–Friday, Day Shift. Regional travel required. Some overtime and overnight stays.

Compensation:
- Level I: $25–$33/hr (mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting on generators/diesel engines)
- Level II: $34–$40/hr (includes Level I skills plus experience with electrical systems, switchgear, load balancing)

Requirements:
- 4+ years of experience with commercial/industrial generators, engines, switchgear, and controllers
- Volvo engine experience a plus
- 20% overnight travel
- Valid DOT physical, background check, and drug screen
- Strong written and verbal English skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and Outlook
- OEM or EGSA certification preferred
Duties:
- Perform operations, startups, preventive and corrective maintenance on generators, switchgear, and battery storage equipment
- Repair and service all makes/models of generator sets
- Troubleshoot and repair diesel engines: Volvo, Cummins, Detroit Diesel, John Deere, MTU
- Diagnose and program switchgear
- Perform load bank testing and start-ups
- Provide exceptional customer service and complete detailed documentation
- Participate in on-call service as needed
Physical Demands:
- 85% fieldwork, 15% administrative
- Regular lifting/pushing/pulling of 20–75 lbs
- Frequent standing, walking, sitting
- Occasional climbing, kneeling, crouching, crawling
- PPE required: protective glasses, gloves, footwear
- Visual demands: close/distance/color vision, depth perception, focus adjustment
- Ability to detect sounds, textures, and visual signals
- Up to 10 hours of heavy-duty truck driving
- May work extended or unpredictable hours
