Position Overview
We are seeking motivated Field Service Technicians to serve as company representatives traveling to customer sites to perform installation, maintenance, and repairs on company buildings and structures. This role requires flexibility for high travel—typically 2-3 weeks on the road at a time—with company-provided tools, service truck, travel card, laptop, and phone.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform installations and repairs per customer requests and warranty agreements
- Interpret engineering drawings, electrical control prints, and schematics
- Apply carpentry and electrical knowledge to install and repair systems
- Hook up power and controls according to prints and schematics
- Operate power equipment such as battery-operated hand tools, power saws, crimping tools, scarifiers, and air tools
- Install air conditioning equipment, cable ladder systems, hoods, battery systems, waveguide entries, halo ground systems, and grounding systems
- Hang and repair doors and locks, including hardware installation, door assembly, and painting
- Complete framing, sheathing, trim work, and floor tile installation as needed
- Perform minor concrete repairs and apply coatings and finishes to concrete buildings
- Complete other duties assigned by management to fulfill customer agreements and requirements
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- 1-3 years of experience; basic carpentry and electrical skills preferred
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently under varying conditions and constraints
- Knowledge of electrical wiring standards and the National Electric Code (NEC)
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills in diverse situations with limited standardization
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with customers
- Ability to understand and follow verbal, written, or diagram-based instructions
