Manufacturing Manager

Location: Sterling, VA

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM

Job Classification: Full-Time | Exempt | Supervisory

Pay: 100,000-120,000/Salary

Position Summary

The Manufacturing Manager is a hands-on leader responsible for driving operational excellence across our manufacturing operations, with an immediate focus on improving performance in the machine shop. This role requires a results-driven manager who can lead cultural transformation, streamline production processes, and coach leaders to achieve high standards in safety, quality, delivery, and cost (SQDC).

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee all production operations, ensuring performance aligns with company SQDC goals.
• Drive backlog reduction, eliminate scheduling gaps, and enforce accountability within the Machine Shop.
• Implement and manage KPIs across departments using SQDC boards and visual management systems.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and Six Sigma principles.
• Optimize plant layout, material flow, and scheduling to remove bottlenecks and increase throughput.
• Ensure accurate and timely ERP system usage for all operational reporting.
• Collaborate with leadership on strategic planning, capital investments, and capacity growth projects.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, or Operations Management preferred (or equivalent experience).
• 8-10 years of manufacturing industry experience, including 5–7 years in leadership roles within aerospace, precision machining, or related environments.
• Proven success in transforming underperforming teams and leading cultural change initiatives.
