Injection Molding Maintenance Technician

Location: Canton, OH

Shift: 2nd Shift

Pay: Up to $35/hour + OT

Type: Direct Hire

Position Summary:

We're seeking a skilled Injection Molding Maintenance Technician to support a high-volume manufacturing facility in Canton, OH. You'll be the sole maintenance technician on-site during 2nd shift, responsible for ensuring uptime and reliability of injection molding equipment and auxiliary systems. This is a hands-on, high-impact role ideal for mechanically minded professionals — particularly those with hydraulics, electrical, or plastics manufacturing experience.

Shift & Schedule:

• 2nd Shift: 3 PM – 11 PM (some flexibility)
• Training on 1st Shift: 2-3 weeks
• Monday - Friday, 8-hour shifts
• Overtime available and paid at 1.5x

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain and repair injection molding machines, automation equipment, conveyors, thermolators, grinders, and fixtures
• Troubleshoot and resolve hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and electrical issues
• Perform preventative maintenance to minimize downtime
• Collaborate with production to improve efficiency and machine performance
• Maintain spare part inventory and support facility upkeep
• Assist with automation troubleshooting and continuous improvement
• Follow OSHA and internal safety standards

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Hands-on maintenance experience in a plastics or manufacturing environment
• Strong troubleshooting in mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems
• Familiarity with tools, gauges, and technical drawings
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a physically active setting
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Preferred Experience:

• Knowledge of injection molding or extrusion systems
• Military veterans with mechanical, hydraulic, or electrical backgrounds are encouraged to apply
• Welding or fabrication experience
• Basic understanding of PLCs and industrial automation

Compensation & Benefits:

• Hourly pay up to $35/hour
• Overtime paid at 1.5x
