Orion Talent, the nation’s largest military recruiting firm, is currently recruiting transitioning or former military professionals for Night Shift Manager positions with the leading wholesale distributor of paint, hardware, lumber, janitorial, and building supplies serving independent retail dealers throughout the New York Tri-State area.

Position Details
Location: Port Washington, NY
Salary: $110K-$120K/yr + Bonuses
Hours: M-F 6p-4a (Currently avg 55 hrs/wk but will be reducing drastically in the coming months)

Position Description
As a Night Shift Manager, you will direct and coordinate shipping and other warehouse processes according to established operating procedures by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates. You will be directly responsible for building your team and continuously looking for ways to increase efficiency, while driving down operating costs. The company has doubled in size over the last 5 years and is currently expanding its warehouse systems to support and increase that growth model and this hire will play a crucial role in that growth. Responsibilities will include:
• Oversee warehouse shipping process and warehouse personnel to make sure work meets quality standards and is performed according to established procedures.
• Provide training of current and new employees in all appropriate procedures and processes required to complete work assignments.
• Direct the development, revision, and enforcement of inventory management and procedures including record keeping, work instruction, and other standard operation and work practices as necessary.
• Work with team in locating inventory, assisting in Bin Location Accuracy.
• Ensure that all orders are checked, wrapped, and loaded accurately and correctly.
• Direct administrative duties as needed.
• Ensure safe and clean practices are being followed by all employees
• Troubleshoot in other areas within warehouse as needed.
• Provide leadership, motivation, guidance, and support to staff. Create a culture of an excellent work environment.
• Complete inventory transactions to receive, assign location and issue inventory as required.
• Provide Shipping KPIs on a monthly basis.
• Oversee guidelines to ensure inventory discrepancies are resolved.

Position Requirements
• Ideal fit for this position is a senior military member or civilian with strong leadership and communication skills that is familiar with large-scale logistics and supply systems.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience at a manager level or above in a warehouse/distribution center setting.
• Bachelor’s degree in a business discipline (preferred).
• PC literate and analytical.
• Excellent oral and written English communications skills.
• Highly flexible and able to work on multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Must be able to handle confidential information with complete confidence of management.
• Able to motivate, develop, and direct employees, identifying the best people for the job.
• This role must be able to see the forest through the trees. Company needs a LEADER who will continuously push for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
