Job Description
Title: Buyer Planner (Level 2 or 3) - Mechanical
Location: San Francisco Bay Area
Schedule: M-F Days – Hybrid schedule with 1 day/week in office
Compensation: $100k-$135k base salary, depending on experience/level
Benefits: Comprehensive benefits package. 90% of employee medical benefit cost (70% for dependents) is covered by the company, and essentially free Dental, Vision and Life Insurance. 2 weeks vacation first year, 3 weeks second year and uncapped after that. 12 paid Holidays, including company break from 12/24-1/1.

Position Description: Seeking experienced Buyer Planners with strong tactical procurement experience and the ability to think/act strategically to identify gaps and improve procurement processes/procedures.
• Manage procure-to-pay process - RFQs, approvals, tracking POs, shipping
• From lead times and inventory, with input on business risks and use-of-capital, forecast and plan purchasing needs
• Set up and manage system data to optimize material replenishment schedules, inventory levels, safety stock levels and planning system parameters
• Providing data-driven status updates to support abnormality management
• Competitive bidding, sourcing new suppliers, DFM, Cost Modeling and Should cost analysis to support cost-reduction activities
• Act as primary interface on delivery status, issues, and problem resolution, and build effective supplier relationships
• Develop production volume manufacturing partners with the transition of new products
• Proactively collaborate with Production, Material Handling, and Engineers
• Drive planning processes and system improvements in partnership with IT and other business stakeholders
• Ensure on-time delivery to support revenue/shipment plan
Requirements:
• Minimum of Bachelor’s level of education - degree in Engineering, Business, Economics, Supply Chain or similar/related
• 10 years of experience (minimum 5 years) in production controls, material demand planning, or supply chain management environment
• Knowledge of mechanical components and manufacturing technologies - casting, forging, stamping, CNC machining, welding, assembly, tooling, sheet metal
• Detail-oriented and analytical
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Excel and Google Workspace suite proficiency and experience with ERP packages
