Position Details:
Title: Distribution Mechanic B
Location: Seattle, WA |
Shift: Monday – Friday | 6:30 am – 3:00 pm
Compensation: $37.50/hour + overtime

Travel: In and around Downtown Seattle to service customers

Position Description: Distribution Mechanic
As the Distribution Mechanic, you will be a member of the Distribution Team and will assist with preventative, predictive, and corrective equipment maintenance. You will also review operation of plant equipment and systems to minimize unplanned downtime, anticipate problems to identify opportunities for improvement; as you will be charged with all the work in connection with maintaining and construction of the distribution system.

Additional Responsibilities Include:
• Perform daily equipment inspections, as well as identify and assist in correcting unsafe conditions.
• Assist with routine maintenance, repairs, and construction of entire Distribution system.
• Work requires individual to perform heavy manual labor and work in confined spaces (four feet to fifteen feet deep) subject to varying temperatures and air flow. Requires standing, bending, stooping, kneeling and crawling.
• Must work outside. Working conditions with varying temperatures.
• Must work in confined spaces (vaults and trenches with shoring).
• Must work in conditions with exposure to extreme pressure. Air monitors monitor methane gas and oxygen. Fans for air flow. Possible exposure to asbestos.

Requirements:
The ideal candidate is a certified pipe welder, to include being qualified to weld pressure piping in accordance with the requirements set forth in the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, Section IX. You should also be mechanically inclined and possess the skills to handle heavy equipment and materials as well as be able to cut, fit and thread pipe; install insulation, re-condition valves and steam traps.

You should also be trained and proficient in traffic control, excavation and shoring in confined workspaces and possess the ability to perform heavy manual labor and work in confined spaces (four feet to fifteen feet deep) subject to varying temperatures and air flow.

Lastly, candidates must willing to wear all types of PPE including; hearing protection, eye protection, all types of hand protection, steel toe footwear, head protection, wear fall-protection, half-face and full-face respirators.
