Orion Talent, the nation’s largest military recruiting firm, is currently recruiting transitioning or former military professionals for an Electrical Technician II / Electromechanical CNC Technician
Position Details:
Location: Charlotte, NC
Pay: $27-31/hr + OT, especially toward the end of the year.
Shift: M-F day shift. 7a-3:30p. Some mandatory Saturdays.
Travel: Occasional travel, typically voluntary, but could be 2 days to 2 weeks.

Position Description: Electrical Technician II / Electromechanical CNC Technician
These are senior level roles responsible for the safe installation, set-up, testing, troubleshooting and repair of electrical or electromechanical options on new and used CNC equipment in a shop environment.
• Perform work with single phase and three phase power and control systems from 100 to 480 Volts AC and 5 to 800 Volts DC.
• Operate various measuring, diagnostic and testing instruments to help troubleshoot, install and repair equipment.
• Perform tasks and install components to specifications in accordance with mechanical assembly prints, electrical and other system schematics.
• Work with automation systems including PLC, motors and drives.
• Update drawings and provide feedback / solutions when issues are found during electrical installations or rebuilds.
• Install components, wiring, plumbing and labeling for machine rebuilds and /or retrofits.
• Troubleshoot all machine technical issues and provide feedback to the appropriate departments.
• Operate controls to perform system checks.
• Interface with all departments, as necessary to provide good communication throughout the project.

• Trade school, journeyman or military certification in electronics and at least 3 years of relevant work experience.
• Ability to set keep relays and parameter settings for different machine options.
• Ability to use leadership and mentoring skills for developing team members.
• Proficient in electrical and/or electromechanical troubleshooting techniques.
• Understanding of how to read and interpret assembly drawings, electrical and other system schematics.
• Proficient in electrical system troubleshooting including the use of multi-meters, amp probes and phase detectors in an industrial setting.

Training: State approved apprenticeship. 8,000 hours of combined classroom and hands on training.
