Position Details:
Salary/Benefits: $65k to $75k+10% bonus $250mo Car Allowance- as well as $.55/mile if the $250 is exceeded, Med, Dental, 401k, tuition assistance, profit sharing.
Shift: Monday to Friday first shift. Some on call weekends are required (every 3d or up to 5th weekend) for a 48 hour weekend you will get 1/ pay- 16 hours. In addition, if called in- you get 4 hours of overtime minimum, even if job takes 15 minutes.

Career Progression: You are hired in as a Technical Engineer. If you perform you will be able to move into numerous position technical positions in engineering.

Position Description: Primary responsibility will be to support customer service activities associated with modifying, troubleshooting, diagnosing and repairing of highly complex capital equipment at customer sites. Represents the company to the customer and assumes accountability for customer satisfaction with service. A CSE assures operational quality of system equipment. They coordinate actions with customers to minimize down time. They provide assistance to Tech support engineers in resolving problems on site. A CSE must be willing to provide 7x24 service when necessary, on call, and on site support.

You will evaluate, analyze, diagnose, and troubleshoot technical equipment problems via telephone or at customer site. Ensure equipment enhances customer production. Repair and modify equipment at customer facility. Repair of system level problems are based on CSE’s technical knowledge, education, and training.

- Provide guidance and technical assistance to Installation Engineers on installs at customer sites or on installing/dismantling demonstration machines.
- Conduct customer orientation and technical training on all aspects of equipment maintenance support for user applications.
- Expect to be cross-trained and assist other field service engineers as needed.
- Prepares reports on customer support activity and provides documentation to engineering, marketing, and sales for re-occurring problems. You will be required to make recommendations for improvements.

Looking for proficiency in systems level repair of multiple and extremely complex products. A CSE must have advanced electronics skills. You must have the ability to troubleshoot problems in software and electronic systems. You must have a strong knowledge of optics and lasers, computer theory and applicable operating system knowledge. A CSE must have strong mechanical and analytical skills. Looking for strong interpersonal/communication skills in understanding customers needs. You will be required to work under pressure and with stringent timelines, since failure of company equipment may shut down customer manufacturing area (this could mean millions of $$$). You must successfully complete ongoing technical training to acquire a thorough knowledge of company equipment, the application of diagnostic techniques, and practical application of service aids.

The following Military backgrounds have done the best: Electronics, Nuclear, Electricians, Firecontrol Techs, Avionics. Must maintain working relationship with Customer, applications support engineers, technical support teams, and sales team.

The nature of work requires that Customer Support Engineers work highly independently; only on occasion (approx 20% of time) requires guidance from management. CSEs are required to contact management on a daily basis (twice each day or more often as required) to report activities. CSEs spend approx. 20% of time in office for admin work and 80% of time at customer site.
