What a Typical Day Looks Like:
The Mechanical Engineer II works cross-functionally with sales, project managers, procurement, production, quality assurance, and customer feedback to produce or modify product designs. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, design expertise, and team collaboration while adhering to project schedules and budgets.

This role requires strong problem-solving skills, design expertise, and team collaboration while adhering to project schedules and budgets.
Responsibilities:
- Meet with stakeholders to establish requirements for new or existing products/systems
- Allocate and manage project development and design tasks
- Use CAD software (AutoCAD Inventor and/or SolidWorks) to create drawing specifications
- Participate in technical and customer meetings, providing solutions for technical issues
- Develop designs from concept through production, ensuring compliance with client needs, engineering standards, and regulations
- Create prototypes, test, and analyze results
- Support manufacturing teams to ensure design specifications are met
- Troubleshoot and recommend solutions for manufacturing challenges
- Manage change control and project timelines
- May require occasional availability outside normal business hours
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
- 2–5 years of power distribution or related engineering experience preferred
- Knowledge of UL standards (UL 891, UL 1558, UL 67, UL 857, UL 1008, UL 62368/60950, etc.) preferred
- Ability to read and interpret electrical system diagrams, blueprints, and schematics
- Hands-on troubleshooting skills per test documentation (as needed)
- Proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD Inventor & Vault, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask
