Description

The Electrical Assembler is responsible for laying out, constructing, and assembling various electrical and electromechanical components with minimal supervision. The role includes reading and interpreting schematics, BOMs, ladder logic diagrams, and layout drawings; sizing and routing wiring, conduit, and other components; performing quality inspections; supporting ISO-9001 standards; and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. The assembler works safely, efficiently, and collaboratively within the plant environment.


Key Job Accountabilities
Assembles
Electrical and electromechanical assemblies according to schematic diagrams, specifications, and regulatory codes. Plans layouts for control cabinets, sensor placement, actuators, and routing of conduit and cable.
Sizes and Installs
Wiring, contacts, circuit protection, conduit, junctions, and other components according to NEC code requirements and design specifications.
Troubleshoots and Corrects
Improper mechanical or electrical assembly, reporting unresolved issues to the Team Leader. Recommends changes or improvements to circuits and devices as needed.
Performs Quality Assurance
Inspects assemblies and documents results, maintaining ISO-9001 compliance and adherence to safety and environmental procedures.
Supports Continuous Improvement
Participates in Lean initiatives, providing ideas for process, product, and procedure improvements.
Operates Tools and Equipment
Uses hand, power, and pneumatic tools common to the trade; learns to operate overhead cranes and forklifts safely.
Collaborates
Works in other areas of the plant as required and supports team objectives while ensuring effective communication and adherence to safety protocols.


Requirements
Basic Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 3-5 years of related experience
  • Ability to perform moderate to heavy physical labor (lifting up to 100 lbs occasionally, 50 lbs constantly)
  • Daily physical activity including walking, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, pushing, pulling, and lifting
  • Visual acuity to operate motor vehicles or heavy equipment
  • Skilled in reading circuit diagrams, schematics, ladder logic diagrams, BOMs, production schedules, and blueprints
  • Skilled in operating hand, power, and pneumatic tools
  • Working knowledge of electrical theory and practice, including electric motors, motor starters, contactors, relays, circuit breakers, fusing, PLCs, and sensors
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems, including Glovia and rework database
  • Experience or exposure to Lean concepts
  • Effective team player
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with NEC code requirements and interpretation
