Field Service Technician

Position Details:

• Title: Field Service Technician
• Location: Charlotte, NC
• Shift: Typical Day Shift 
• Compensation: $32/Hr.

Position Description:

The Field Service Technician will maintain and repair stationary steam boilers and boiler house auxiliaries by performing the following duties. Diagnose the cause of equipment malfunction or failure. Disassembles repairs and reassembles components and units as required. Adjusts and calibrates equipment to operating specifications. Assembles and installs new units as required. Sells Assured Preventive Maintenance Programs, service & repair parts, compounds, and chemicals.

Responsibilities:

• Perform field-level maintenance and repairs on steam boilers and auxiliary systems
• Diagnose equipment malfunctions and failures using technical tools and customer input
• Install and commission new systems per specification
• Conduct equipment adjustments and calibrations to operational specifications
• Maintain accurate service records and paperwork
• Promote and sell Preventive Maintenance Programs and repair parts
• Conduct boiler inspections and high-pressure piping repairs
• Perform pressure tests and system evaluations
• Provide customer training and support
• Always follow safety standards and best practices

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED
• 1–3 months related experience or equivalent training
• 6 years of related field experience OR
  • 3 years of experience with a technical school background OR
  • 2 years of Clayton Industries product experience
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
• Proficient in basic math and geometry
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Ability to lift around 100 lbs. and work in physically demanding environments
