Position Description

In this hands-on, service-oriented role, you will focus on Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) startups, modifications, preventive maintenance, and emergency/warranty support. You will provide field-based technical service while progressing into higher-level Field Service Engineer responsibilities with advanced training and experience.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform ATS preventive maintenance, startup, and basic troubleshooting
  • Verify communications links (e.g., Modbus, TCPIP) with Russelectric equipment
  • Write and submit Methods of Procedure (MOPs) for ATS-related work
  • Generate and submit timely field reports to customers and internal teams
  • Track time entry and expenses accurately
  • Assist with installation of 480VAC/12.47KVAC switchgear, ATS, breakers, and generator system controls
  • Comply with all safety regulations and company policies
  • Provide excellent customer communication and manage expectations
  • Be available on call 24/7 as required


Requirements

Basic Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of field service experience
  • Training in electrical theory/technologies (including prior military service)
  • Experience in power distribution, AC/DC voltage circuit theory, and troubleshooting
  • Diesel power generation and control systems experience (including paralleling systems)
  • Experience with switchgear testing and medium/low voltage electrical systems
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and blueprints
  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 3–5 years of experience in ATS industry
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Experience with automatic transfer switch testing
  • Familiarity with relevant codes and standards
  • Strong project management, organizational, and client relationship skills
  • Self-directed and highly customer-focused
  • Valid driver’s license in good standing
