POSITION DETAILS

Position Summary

We are seeking a hands-on and dependable Support A team member to assist with logistics and manufacturing operations. This role includes receiving and storing materials, preparing products for shipment, operating equipment, and performing general shop support.

Principal Activities

  • Receiving & Inventory: Unload and inspect incoming shipments; verify materials against purchase orders; record and label parts; store materials in designated locations.
  • Material Preparation: Cut raw materials (e.g., bar stock, castings) to specified sizes using saws and other tools; label and tag all pieces for traceability; maintain material handling records.
  • Shipping: Prepare parts, assemblies, and finished units for shipment by packaging, labeling, and creating shipping documentation; ensure compliance with customer and military requirements.
  • Crating & Carpentry: Build custom crates and skids for heavy equipment using hand and power tools; maintain lumber inventory and equipment in the carpentry area.
  • Painting & Preservation: Apply primers and finishes to components using brush or spray methods; mix paints to meet specifications; apply preservatives and moisture protection where needed.
  • Equipment Operation: Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, overhead cranes, and other lifting devices to move parts and materials throughout the facility.
  • Documentation & Recordkeeping: Maintain accurate records of material receipts, movements, inventory levels, and shipping details; complete all necessary forms and tags.
  • General Support: Assist in basic maintenance, cleaning, scrap removal, coolant checks, and other shop support tasks as required to keep operations running smoothly.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge Skills & Abilities

  • Experience in logistics, shipping/receiving, or manufacturing support is a plus
  • Ability to read and follow work orders, packing slips, and basic specifications
  • Comfortable using hand tools and power equipment (training provided)
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain documentation
  • Physically able to lift/move materials and perform manual task

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required, associate's degree, vocational or technical training preferred
  • 1+ years in shipping or receiving in a manufacturing environment
