The Facilities Mechanic III is responsible for overseeing and administering a comprehensive maintenance and repair program for heavy machinery, mechanical systems, and support equipment used in ship construction, ship repair, and the manufacturing of shipboard systems. This position ensures maximum equipment uptime, coordinates preventive maintenance schedules, and provides hands-on support for complex mechanical troubleshooting, repair, and modification activities. |
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Develop, implement, and oversee preventative and corrective maintenance programs for heavy industrial equipment, including cranes, welding machines, hydraulic systems, compressors, HVAC systems, and production machinery.
Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems used in shipbuilding and systems manufacturing operations.

Qualifications & Minimum Requirements: Strong knowledge of mechanical systems including hydraulics, pneumatics, welding equipment, and heavy-duty production machinery.
