Location: South Portland, ME
Shift or Travel: On call 24/7; occasional overnight travel required; local travel to customer sites (within 1 hour from home location)
Compensation: $75,000 – $85,000 annually (commensurate with experience)

Position Description:
The On-Site Air Separation Plant Technician is responsible for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of nitrogen-producing plants at customer locations in the Essex Junction, VT area. This role includes troubleshooting, maintaining, and operating air separation equipment and supporting systems. The position requires strong technical skills in instrumentation, controls, electrical, and mechanical systems. Technicians work independently with minimal supervision and are supported by a team of engineers, lead technicians, and technical staff.
Core Responsibilities:
• Maintain safety, quality, and compliance activities at assigned plant locations.
• Operate and maintain process equipment, including compressors, gas analyzers, control systems, and pneumatic valves.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve plant issues to ensure optimal performance.
• Coordinate contractors and resources for plant maintenance and audits.
• Document maintenance and compliance activities using process control systems.
• Assist in training and developing new employees as needed.
• Respond to on-call emergencies and support other locations as required.
Requirements:
• High school diploma or GED (Associate’s degree in technical field preferred).
• 2–5 years’ experience in:
Air separation or complex process control
Industrial maintenance (mechanical, electrical, instrumentation)
HVAC or military engineering fields (e.g., Machinist Mates, Electrician Mates, Gas Turbine Technicians)
• Strong troubleshooting, diagnostics, and process control skills.
• Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office applications; knowledge of FIX 32 and process control systems is a plus.
• Excellent communication and time management skills.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs occasionally, climb stairs/ladders, and work in varying environmental conditions.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
