Position Title: Field Service Engineer
Location: Sterling Heights, MI and Los Angeles, CA
Salary: $35 – $45/hr. (commensurate with experience)
Travel: 75–80%, including overnight travel, occasional weekends, and holidays
Shift: Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm (paid from the time you leave home)

Position Description:
The company is expanding its North American operations and seeking Field Service Engineers to support customers through installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of high-precision machine tools. While CNC experience is preferred, it is not required if you bring strong electrical, electronic, or electro-mechanical skills. If you’re someone who enjoys solving problems, fixing complex systems, and traveling for hands-on work, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities:
• Install and commission CNC machine tools and related equipment
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, electronic, and mechanical issues
• Conduct preventive maintenance and inspections on-site
• Read and interpret electrical schematics and technical documentation
• Provide customer training on machine operation and best practices
• Collaborate with Applications Engineers to resolve technical issues
• Submit timely and accurate service reports, timesheets, and expenses
• Represent the company with professionalism and maintain strong customer relationships
Requirements:
• Proven experience with CNC machine tool installation and repair
• Skilled in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
• Proficient in using hand tools and electrical test equipment
• Familiar with 3-axis and 5-axis CNC machines
• Strong mechanical aptitude and mathematical skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
• Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Must be proactive, detail-oriented, and customer-focused
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• Technical or Engineering degree, or equivalent experience
Preferred:
• Prior field service experience in a CNC or machine tool environment
• Hydraulics or pneumatic troubleshooting
