Description

• Follow the Company’s Quality Control, Environmental, Health and Safety Procedures.
• Assist in building switchgear panels using schematic, mechanical and general assembly drawings
• Carry out preparatory work on switchgear components e.g. cable stripping / label printing.
• Assist with the mechanical assembly of switchgear frames. 
• Complete the assembly of mechanical components e.g. copper assembly.
• Complete the assembly of electrical sub-assemblies e.g. wire harnesses and panel plates etc.
• Assembly and installation of panel door assemblies.
• Support the wrapping and preparation of finished products for shipment.
• Be required to help in other departments as required daily.
• Maintain area housekeeping standards to ensure a consistent and audit ready state.
• Ensure waste materials are stored in a safe and efficient manner prior to collection. 
• Any other duties within any associated department as requested by your Production Supervisor.

Experience / Skills Required:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Have strong EHS and housekeeping awareness.
• Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Able to work independently and as a team player.
• Well-organized, self-motivated and able to multi-task.
• Previous experience using hand tools.
• Good aptitude for mechanical assembly.

Key Responsibilities:

• Schedule and manage departmental operations and workforce.
• Maintain in-depth knowledge of processes and equipment; recommend improvements.
• Control labor and material costs to align with budgets.
• Coordinate with Maintenance to address equipment issues and schedule downtime as needed.
• Lead staffing activities including interviewing, hiring, training, performance evaluations, and discipline, in collaboration with HR and the General Manager.
• Enforce company policies, rules, and procedures.
• Identify operational challenges, allocate resources, and implement solutions to meet production targets.

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering (preferred).
• Minimum 6 years of direct leadership experience in a technical or manufacturing environment.

• Proactive, hands-on leadership style with the ability to motivate teams and maintain high safety, quality, and efficiency standards.

• Strong industrial electrical knowledge, preferably 480V journeyman level experience

  tracking and reporting real-time status of work orders/jobs across all
  stages of the fabrication process, including machining, welding, assembly,
  and finishing.
• Work closely with production,
  quality, planning, and engineering teams to ensure job priorities are
  understood and executed in line with production schedules.
• Communicate with Purchasing,
  subcontractors, and vendors to obtain updates on outsourced operations
  (e.g. heat treating, coating, NDT) and ensure on-time delivery back to the
  facility.
• Identify delays, material
  shortages, or process roadblocks early; escalate and coordinate corrective
  actions to avoid disruption to the production schedule.
• Help prioritize work across
  departments based on due dates, customer commitments, or critical path
  items.  Step in to complete tasks to
  remove bottlenecks as needed. 
• Maintain accurate tracking
  tools or status boards.  Provide
  daily or weekly reports to leadership on job progress, late items, and
  potential risks to delivery.
• Participate in daily/weekly
  production meetings to communicate status updates, highlight concerns, and
  propose solutions.
• Recommend process improvements
  to reduce lead times, improve communication, and streamline production
  flow.
• Perform other duties as
  required.

• Responsible for conducting quality weld inspections using various methods in accordance with industry standards and contract specific requirements.
• Provide factual, comprehensive data and draft reports for customers addressing NDT inspection criteria completely.
• Coordination with Project Management, Production, Customers and Third Party Surveyors as required.
• Preparation of Quality Plans, Inspection and Test Reports
• Review and Certification of Final Documentation for Customers.
• Demonstrated proficiency performance as a minimum NDT Level I / II, and minimum 600 logged hours in any one (1) of the following areas:Visual, Dye Penetrant (combination of Type I and Type II), Magnetic Particle (combination of Dry Method & Wet Method), Ultrasonic (Thickness & Shearwave)
• Set up and perform NDT test procedures.
• Interpret specifications relative to NDT testing and acceptance/rejection criteria.
• Be familiar with the scope and limitations of the methods for which qualified, and exercise assigned responsibility for OJT and guidance of trainees.
• Be able to prepare written instructions and to organize and report the results of examinations.

• Setup, operate and perform daily maintenance on machines.
• Able to operate conventional machines- Bridgeport’s, manual lathes and some grinding with minimal oversight 
• Strictly adheres to proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Makes high quality parts to specifications.
• Helps develop workable methods for machining operations.
• Makes proper use of machines, tooling, and inspection equipment.
• Sets up, machines, and inspects all required operations.
• Proficient at inspecting sizes and geometries down to .0002”.
• Provides leadership and guidance to less experienced machinists to upgrade their machining, inspection, and problem-solving skills.

• ITAR: This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. citizen status.

• The performance of this position will require exposure to the manufacturing areas where all areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, hearing protection, steel toe shops, and other mandatory safety equipment.
• For the most part, ambient temperatures with typical plant lighting and manufacturing equipment are present throughout the facility.
