Description
Go to end ⇓- Perform functional testing, startup, and performance validation of custom HVAC equipment, including air handling, direct-fired, indirect-fired, mixed-air, and evaporative cooling systems.
- Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, controls, airflow, hydronic, and gas-fired system issues using a systematic approach to identify root causes.
- Verify operation of motors, VFDs, sensors, actuators, relays, burners, safety devices, and control systems.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, piping diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Utilize multimeters, electrical test equipment, and calibrated instruments to validate equipment performance and identify deficiencies.
- Perform vibration analysis and balancing of blower wheels, fan assemblies, and rotating equipment to optimize system performance.
- Complete test documentation, inspection records, startup reports, and quality paperwork while supporting root cause investigations and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Operations to resolve product issues and improve equipment reliability, manufacturability, and customer satisfaction.
What We're Looking For
(Must-Have Skills, Experience, and Education)
- 3–7 years of hands-on experience troubleshooting complex electrical and mechanical equipment.
- Strong knowledge of motors, VFDs, relays, sensors, actuators, control circuits, and industrial electrical troubleshooting.
- Experience reading electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, and technical documentation.
- Background performing equipment startup, commissioning, testing, validation, or field troubleshooting.
- Strong root cause analysis and independent problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where diagnosing equipment issues is a primary responsibility.
- Experience with HVAC equipment, industrial controls, or custom engineered equipment is highly desirable.
- Industrial electrical training, HVAC controls experience, Lean Manufacturing, or continuous improvement experience is a plus.
