City, State: Fort Worth, TX
Salary: $110,000 - $125,000

Description

Seeking technically strong U.S. Navy Nuclear-trained veterans to join its Fort Worth engineering organization as Senior Lead Manufacturing Process Engineers.

If you served as a Nuclear Machinist's Mate (MMN), Nuclear Electrician's Mate (EMN), or Nuclear Electronics Technician (ETN), your experience operating, maintaining, troubleshooting and improving some of the Navy's most complex equipment and systems can translate extremely well into this opportunity.

Prior commercial manufacturing experience is not necessarily required. We are specifically interested in Navy Nukes who have demonstrated the technical aptitude, troubleshooting ability, procedural discipline and leadership required to succeed in highly complex technical environments.

This position supports advanced technology products and manufacturing operations, including programs associated with AI and data-center infrastructure, aerospace & defense, semiconductor equipment and other technically demanding markets.

Why Navy Nuclear Experience Fits

  • Complex mechanical, electrical, electronic and control-system troubleshooting
  • Preventive and corrective maintenance of mission-critical equipment
  • Systematic root-cause analysis and problem solving
  • Working from detailed technical procedures, drawings and specifications
  • Identifying equipment and process deficiencies and implementing corrective actions
  • Analyzing system performance and recognizing abnormal operating conditions
  • Operating in environments where quality, reliability and procedural compliance are critical
  • Coordinating maintenance, operations and technical work across multiple teams
  • Training and qualifying personnel on complex systems and procedures
  • Leading technical work in high-pressure, high-accountability environments

Your Navy experience does not need to have occurred in a traditional manufacturing facility to be relevant.

What You'll Do

  • Develop, improve and release manufacturing processes supporting complex technology products.
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) and the transition of new products into production.
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing equipment, processes and product-quality issues.
  • Perform structured root-cause analysis and develop corrective actions.
  • Identify opportunities to improve quality, reliability, yield, cost and production efficiency.
  • Analyze technical data and process performance to identify trends and potential failures.
  • Work with engineering, operations and quality teams to resolve complex technical problems.
  • Apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM/DFX) principles to improve manufacturability and reduce production risk.
  • Lead technical projects and communicate findings and recommendations to engineering leadership and customers.
  • Develop the commercial manufacturing knowledge necessary to complement the technical foundation developed through the Navy Nuclear Program.

Navy Nuclear Backgrounds of Particular Interest

  • Nuclear Machinist's Mate - MMN
  • Mechanical systems • pumps • valves • heat exchangers • fluid systems • steam systems • equipment maintenance • mechanical troubleshooting • preventive/corrective maintenance • system operations • casualty response
  • Nuclear Electrician's Mate - EMN
  • Electrical distribution • motors • generators • electrical controls • power systems • electrical maintenance • testing • troubleshooting • schematics • equipment reliability • casualty response
  • Nuclear Electronics Technician - ETN
  • Instrumentation & controls • reactor control systems • electronic systems • calibration • testing • diagnostics • technical troubleshooting • control circuitry • system monitoring • equipment reliability

What We're Looking For

(Must-Have Skills, Experience, and Education)
  • U.S. Navy Nuclear Propulsion experience as an MMN, EMN or ETN
  • Strong technical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
  • Experience maintaining, operating or repairing complex equipment and systems
  • Demonstrated ability to identify problems, determine root causes and implement solutions
  • Strong procedural discipline and commitment to quality and safety
  • Experience leading technical work, maintenance activities, projects or personnel
  • Ability to work effectively across technical and operational teams
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability and desire to transition Navy Nuclear technical experience into an advanced commercial engineering and manufacturing environment

Navy Nuclear veterans should not self-select out because they lack direct experience with commercial manufacturing terminology such as NPI, DFM, PFMEA, DOE or Lean Manufacturing. These methodologies can be learned - the technical aptitude, discipline and problem-solving foundation developed through the Nuclear Navy is what we are seeking.

Additional Technical Experience

  • Experience in any of the following is beneficial, but not required for Navy Nuclear candidates:
  • Electronics / PCBA manufacturing • SMT / PTH • Mechanical or systems assembly • Machining • Manufacturing automation • NPI • DFM / DFA / DFX • DOE • Lean manufacturing • PFMEA • 8D corrective action • Quality improvement • Failure analysis
