Must-Have Skills, Experience, and Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2–4 years of field service, industrial maintenance, electronics, mechanical repair, biomedical equipment, military technical, or similar technical experience; OR an associate degree or technical certification with at least 1 year of hands-on technical experience, including qualifying internships or apprenticeships
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting aptitude
• Hands-on technical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair skills
• Ability to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain specialized technical equipment

Job Description

We are seeking a hands-on Field Service Engineer to support customers throughout the assigned territory. This role is ideal for someone with a strong electrical background who enjoys troubleshooting, testing, commissioning, and working directly with customers in the field.

• Install, test, commission, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical power distribution equipment.
• Work with low-voltage switchgear, transformers, and related critical power systems.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics and technical documentation.
• Troubleshoot AC/DC electrical systems and power distribution equipment.
• Use test equipment including multimeters, current meters, and related diagnostic tools.
• Complete technical reports, test sheets, and service documentation.

Must-Haves

• 4+ years of relevant electrical, power distribution, field service, maintenance, or related technical experience OR an Associate degree in Electrical Power Distribution or a related field.
• Hands-on experience with electrical power distribution systems and AC/DC electrical systems.
• Ability to read and understand electrical schematics.
• Experience using electrical test equipment such as multimeters, current meters, and related diagnostic tools.
• Ability to work independently at customer sites and communicate professionally with customers and internal teams.
• Willingness to travel throughout the assigned territory.

Job Description

This person will be responsible for installing and servicing parking access control, vehicle entry systems, and building access control systems in a geographic area that includes Southeastern, Central, and Western Virginia. Equipment includes parking gates, ticket dispensers, license plate recognition cameras, facility management software, slide and swing gate operators, card readers, and telephone entry systems, as well as integration of these systems into existing networks.

Must-Have Skills, Experience, and Education:

• 2-5 years of low-voltage wiring and installation experience, and equipment diagnostic and repair experience
• DCJS registration holder is preferred
• Experience with basic networking (LAN, WAN & Best Practices)
• Experience working outdoors or on Construction Sites
• Experience with Installation and Service
• After Hours/Weekends/Holidays: This person will be on call periodically and respond to emergency service calls that are called in during non-business hours. Normal business hours currently are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Friday. This person occasionally will work after hours and on weekends.
• Physical Requirements: This person will be doing physical work inside and outside. Need to be able to lift at least fifty pounds and be on their feet for much of the day.
• Pre-employment drug screening will be performed as a condition of employment.
• Training: New Technicians are paired with veterans for a training period. The technician will also attend manufacturer training. The company's educational assistance program reimburses employees for job-related training and certification programs.
• This person will provide operator-level training and interact closely with customers.
