Inspector

Northeast
US Navy, E-5

I was a E-5, Machinist Mate, in the Navy for five years, and Orion helped me get a job before my terminal leave even started. Orion was great. Everyone that I dealt with during the process was awesome.  Mike Wooster was always on top of the game and gave me some excellent  job opportunities.  And Tony Hoffman put a lot of time and effort into his clients.

Mike is a good guy who understood every aspect of my situation, like how much I needed to make, my family situation, and where I needed to be located.  Mike always listened to me, and I never felt as if I was not going to get a job.  On top of that, he is prior military, so he understood where I came from and what my concerns were.  He actually helped me with the transition process, because he understood what I was going through.

When the hiring conference I attended came around, I knew I was going to land something. Orion set up an awesome conference.  The employers there were excellent.  It was well organized, and I was definitely set up for success.  Most of the employers had more positions available then the amount of people that were at the conference, which was a huge advantage.

Everything Orion said in their briefs and interview prepping was entirely true.  You have to go into the interviews and make them like you (just like Orion said in their prepping).  I received a job offer for a position that was not a direct fit, because I did what the recruiters at Orion said.  I ended up taking a different position, but I had two job offers (both excellent salaries) lined up. I actually had options.

Currently I am an Inspector for Hartford Steam Boiler.  The job is actually a perfect job for my rate in the Navy.  I feel my military background gave me a huge advantage over a civilian, because it prepared me to be able to learn new things.  It made me trainable to almost any position that was offered to me.

Compared to other recruiting firms, Orion was on top the whole time.  I dealt with two other companies during my transition, and neither of them were as responsive.  Orion didn’t forget about me like the other companies did.  I knew from day one that the company that was going to get me a job was Orion.
