Account Manager

West
US Army, O-3

I left the Army in late 2008 and took a job immediately, but I was dissatisfied and began exploring my options and working with Orion to find other opportunities in spring 2009. I was a Captain in the engineer branch when I left the military. The leadership, personnel, and operations management experience I received in the military was excellent preparation for a smooth transition into my new position with Air Serv Corporation.

My recruiter was JP Sniffen. He treated me very well, responded to my questions in a very timely manner, and was attentive. JP also made good suggestions, prepared me well for upcoming interviews, and was proactive in finding job opportunities that fit my interests and were best suited for my skills, background, and personality.

I am now the Operations Manager in charge of airline cabin cleaning services at San Francisco International Airport. The parallels between this new position and the positions I held in the military are that this position requires me to deal extensively with several types of people with very diverse backgrounds, I have to deal with problems and put out fires, and it requires the ability to suggest new methods of performing a task and to execute and make positive things happen. It is a very hands-on job that will keep me on my feet and in constant communication with a very diverse and talented team.

I recommend Orion to anyone who is considering transitioning from the military and wants a suggestion of where to start. Orion will do their best to meet both your professional and geographic job requirements, will follow up with you on a regular basis, and will prepare you to stand out in the interview process.
