Description

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing general repairs and preventive maintenance on plant facilities and production equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations. This role supports production uptime through troubleshooting, repair, calibration, and continuous improvement of industrial equipment and facility systems.
The position requires strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting abilities, preventive maintenance experience, and the ability to work independently in a manufacturing environment.


Must-Have Skills, Experience, and Education
• High school diploma or GED, or equivalent assessment qualification
• CMRT Certification or equivalent proven maintenance experience
• Working knowledge of industrial mechanical systems
• Experience with Microsoft Office and SAP CMMS or equivalent maintenance management systems
• Experience with pumps, gearboxes, belts, chains, hydraulics, couplings, bearings, shafts, and motors
• Experience troubleshooting 460V 3-phase electrical systems and motor controls
• Knowledge of pipe fitting, electrical wiring, and general mechanics
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to read blueprints, sketches, and equipment manuals
• Self-motivated with strong math aptitude
• Military technical training accepted in lieu of certification requirements


Requirements
• Perform routine, emergency, and preventive maintenance on production equipment and facility systems
• Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and minimize production downtime
• Install, replace, and repair machine parts and attachments
• Perform calibration and preventive maintenance on electronic and pneumatic systems
• Modify equipment to improve safety, quality, productivity, and reliability
• Complete maintenance documentation and maintain spare parts records
• Maintain housekeeping standards for tools, equipment, and work areas
• Support maintenance of air compressor systems including filters, regulators, dryers, and lubricators
• Perform small welding projects using MIG welding
• Maintain lift trucks and mixer equipment
• Follow OSHA safety standards and Lockout/Tagout procedures


Nice-to-Have Skills, Experience, and Education
• Five or more years of industrial maintenance experience
• Technical school diploma
• PLC software experience
• Experience with process control transmitters and safety switches
• Military maintenance or technical background
• Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems
