Description
Join a growing custom equipment manufacturer where you'll lead the electrical assembly team responsible for building, wiring, testing, and commissioning highly engineered HVAC equipment. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys coaching technicians, driving production, solving electrical problems, and ensuring every unit is built safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
What You'll Do
Lead daily electrical assembly, panel shop operations, functional testing, and fan balancing activities for custom-engineered HVAC equipment.
- Assign work, balance labor, and coordinate workflow to meet production schedules and customer delivery commitments.
- Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching, and accountability while developing the skills of electrical assemblers and technicians.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, and panel layouts to ensure accurate assembly and installation.
- Troubleshoot electrical systems, control circuits, motors, sensors, relays, actuators, and panel wiring to resolve production and testing issues.
- Support equipment startup, functional testing, and system validation while driving root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality to resolve technical issues, improve production flow, and reduce rework.
- Promote a strong safety culture by enforcing electrical safety practices, maintaining organized work areas, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
What We're Looking For
(Must-Have Skills, Experience, and Education)
- 5+ years of hands-on electrical experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Previous leadership experience as a Leadman, Team Lead, Senior Technician, Production Lead, or Supervisor.
- Strong ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering drawings.
- Experience with electrical assembly, panel building, electrical troubleshooting, startup, testing, and system validation.
- Working knowledge of NEC requirements and industrial electrical standards.
- Proven ability to assign work, coordinate production flow, troubleshoot electrical issues, and drive root cause resolution.
- Strong communication, leadership, and coaching skills with the ability to develop team members while maintaining production goals.
- Experience with engineered-to-order manufacturing, industrial controls, HVAC equipment, PLC troubleshooting, or Lean Manufacturing is a plus.
