Field Service Technician

West
US Navy, E-5

I was in the Navy for seven-and-a-half years and separated as an E-5 on June 27, 2007. I was actually using four different agencies to find a job before I learned of Orion International. It didn't take long for the other agencies I was using to give up on my job search. The area I'm living in doesn't have a lot of jobs available, so the other recruiting agencies tried to place me with companies that were more than 50 miles from my home. With Seattle traffic, that made it pretty much impossible to do.

It didn't take more than a few weeks of searching for them to stop calling. I had done a lot of searching on my own, and I did find some job prospects that were decent but not exactly what I was looking for. Had I not worked with Orion, I never would have found the job at ATS Automation.

I learned of Orion through my TAP class where I met an Orion representative. He sent me a couple of emails, and, after all the recruiters I was using gave up, I called Orion. I dealt with a few people at Orion, but my recruiter was Quang Truong (Q). He set up a couple of interviews for some great jobs and scheduled me for a hiring conference in October 2007. I had some follow-up interviews from that conference. In November, Q told me about ATS. Someone from ATS called me soon after, and we set up an interview for the following week. I interviewed with a few of the managers. After the interviews, they told me they'd let me know their decision, and, three hours later, they called and offered me a job.

The position I was hired for is a Field Service Technician with some work in electrical engineering, which was exactly what I was looking for. The service area is right around where I live, so everything fit perfectly. Everyone at Orion was more than helpful. They took what I was asking for as far as location, type of work, and salary, and then matched me with the perfect job. I can't thank them enough.
