Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain marine navigation and communication systems aboard commercial vessels.
- Working independently at customer sites, you'll diagnose equipment issues, perform installations and software updates, test system performance, and complete detailed service documentation.
- Test, calibrate, and adjust electronic systems.
- Load, configure, and update equipment software and firmware.
- Interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, technical manuals, and blueprints.
- Diagnose electronic and system-level faults using test equipment.
- Complete detailed service reports.
- Provide professional customer service aboard vessels and in shipyards.
- Servicing Equipment: Marine radar systems, ECDIS, satellite communications (Satcom), HF and VHF radios, GPS navigation systems, gyrocompasses, autopilot systems, echo sounders, and sonar systems.
Must-Have Skills, Experience, and Education:
- 3+ years of experience as an Electronics Technician (ET), Marine Electronics Technician (MET), Missile System Electronics (MSE), Aviation Electronics Technician (AT), or similar technical role.
- Experience in commercial marine electronics or military electronics from the U.S. Navy, Coast Guard, or Marine Corps.
- Associate degree in electronics or equivalent technical training and experience.
- Strong understanding of electronics theory, troubleshooting, and circuit analysis.
- FCC General Radiotelephone Operator License with Radar Endorsement and GMDSS Radio Operator Maintainer License preferred.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
