Description
Hiring experienced Journeyman Technicians in Phoenix and Tucson, AZ to support customers across approximately a 100-square-mile service area. This role is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, overhauling, and maintaining diesel engines, heavy-duty transmissions, generators, and related equipment in both shop and field environments.
Must-Have Skills, Experience, and Education:
- 3-6 years of hands-on diesel, generator, heavy equipment, or industrial maintenance experience
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills using electronic diagnostic tools
- Experience repairing diesel engines, transmissions, generators, and related systems
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, service manuals, and repair procedures
- Strong customer communication and professionalism
- Willingness to travel to customer sites for field service repairs
- Ability to work overtime and respond to after-hours service calls when needed
- Commitment to workplace safety and EPA compliance
Nice-to-Have Skills, Experience, and Education:
- Technical school certificate or diesel technology training
- Generator or power generation experience
- Experience leading or mentoring junior technicians
- OEM dealership or field service experience
- Familiarity with electronic parts catalogs and digital repair systems
- Experience with warranty documentation and repair reporting
- Team-oriented mindset with strong customer service skills
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose equipment failures and perform advanced troubleshooting
- Develop repair plans and determine required labor and parts
- Complete repairs and overhauls to company quality standards
- Communicate findings and repair recommendations with customers
- Maintain accurate service documentation and repair records
- Support field service operations at customer locations
- Maintain personal tool inventory required for the role
- Assist in training and mentoring less experienced technicians
- Follow all company safety procedures and maintain a clean work environment
