Description

The Assembly & Test Technician is responsible for the hands-on assembly and testing of aerospace components and subsystems within a research and development manufacturing environment. This role works closely with engineers to build, test, and validate new hardware supporting flight qualification and advanced aerospace applications.
The position requires strong technical aptitude, attention to detail, adaptability, and the ability to support a wide variety of products, test setups, and manufacturing processes.

Must-Have Skills, Experience, and Education
• Minimum of 2+ years of hands-on assembly or testing experience in aerospace, defense, or precision manufacturing environments
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, work instructions, and technical specifications
• Skilled using mechanical hand tools
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Requirements
• Assemble aerospace components and subsystems from engineering drawings and specifications
• Operate test equipment to validate and characterize hardware performance
• Work closely with engineering teams during assembly and testing activities
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, GD&T, and tolerances
• Document assembly and test results accurately
• Identify and communicate defects, anomalies, or build issues to engineering teams
• Adapt to changing products, test setups, and manufacturing processes
• Maintain organized work practices and high workmanship standards

Nice-to-Have Skills, Experience, and Education
• 5+ years of aerospace, defense, or precision manufacturing assembly/test experience
• Experience operating, programming, or setting up automated or semi-automated test equipment
• Experience assembling and testing avionics, electromechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, or power electronics systems
• Experience operating plastic injection molding equipment
• Familiarity with data acquisition systems
