About The Role:

The IT Technician is a critical, hands-on, on-site role responsible for the setup, management, and maintenance of the US company's entire IT infrastructure. This position requires a versatile professional capable of providing comprehensive technical support across the organization, from the administrative offices to the production floor. The ideal candidate must have a robust understanding of both general IT systems and the specific technological needs of a manufacturing environment. The role requires an exceptionally high level of attention to detail to ensure we manage our ongoing expansion and risk compliance on a continuous basis. Maintaining of a safe, clean, and organized work environment which adheres to all safety regulations is a critical attribute for the role.

What You'll Be Doing:

Infrastructure Management:

• Install, configure, maintain all computer hardware, software, network systems, and related equipment throughout the facility including servers, storage, networking components, and end-user devices.

Production Support:

• Provide direct IT support to the manufacturing and assembly teams.
• Maintaining and expanding the relevant software licenses, equipment programs, quality assurance equipment, and other production technology.

User Support:

• Serve as the primary point of contact for all US technical support issues, resolving problems related to hardware, software, and connectivity for all employees. Support is provided both in-person and remotely.]
• Provide IT support to all Site Engineers as required.

Network Administration:

• Configure and troubleshoot network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
• Monitor network performance to ensure optimal uptime and address connectivity issues.

System Security and Data Protection:

• Implement and manage security measures e.g. installing and upgrading antivirus software and firewalls.
• Perform regular data backups and manage disaster recovery protocols to protect critical business and production data.

Project Assistance:

• Collaborate with senior IT staff and management on larger projects, such as system upgrades, infrastructure expansions, and the implementation of new technologies.

Vendor Co-ordination:

• Act as a liaison with external vendors and service providers for IT-related procurement, support, and issue resolution.

Documentation and Inventory:

• Maintain accurate documentation of all IT infrastructure, including network configurations and hardware inventory.

Continuous Improvement:

• Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry best practices to make recommendations for infrastructure upgrades that increase efficiency and align with business goals.

Must-Have Skills, Experience, and Education:

• Minimum of 3 years' experience in an IT support / technician role, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
• Diploma / degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN).
• Proficiency in administering and supporting Windows OS and common software applications.
• Experience with server maintenance, backup procedures, and virtualized environments is a plus.
