Description
The Fleet Compliance Supervisor is responsible for ensuring transportation operations remain compliant with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations. Reporting to the Fleet Compliance Manager, this position oversees driver qualification programs, Hours of Service compliance, safety initiatives, regulatory reporting, audit preparation, and fleet compliance processes.
This role is ideal for candidates with transportation, logistics, fleet operations, safety, compliance, or military transportation backgrounds who have experience leading teams and managing regulatory programs in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, and other applicable regulations
- Oversee Driver Qualification (DQ) programs and compliance activities
- Manage Hours of Service (HOS) compliance and Electronic Logging Device (ELD) monitoring
- Administer controlled substance and alcohol testing programs
- Conduct daily quality control reviews of:
- Driver logs
- Vehicle records
- Safety documentation
- Compliance reports
- Maintain accurate:
- Driver Qualification Files (DQFs)
- Motor Vehicle Records (MVRs)
- Drug and alcohol testing records
- Monitor driver MVR programs and perform monthly reviews
- Ensure readiness for DOT, FMCSA, internal, and external audits
- Supervise and develop two direct reports
- Generate compliance reports and analyze performance trends
- Recommend corrective actions and process improvements
- Partner with Operations, Transportation, and Safety teams to maintain compliance across the organization
Must-Have Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Logistics, Transportation, or related field
- Equivalent education and experience may be considered
- Minimum 4 years of experience in:
- Fleet management
- Transportation compliance
- Logistics
- Fleet safety
- Minimum 2 years of leadership, supervisory, or team lead experience
- Working knowledge of:
- DOT regulations
- FMCSA regulations
- Experience with:
- ELD systems
- Fleet management software
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with:
- Microsoft Word
- Microsoft Excel
- Microsoft PowerPoint
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Military transportation or logistics leadership experience
