Description

The Field Service Engineer is responsible for installing, servicing, troubleshooting, and repairing CNC fabricating machine tools at customer sites across the United States, Canada, and Mexico. This role delivers high-quality technical support to ensure optimal performance of sheet metal manufacturing equipment while maintaining strong customer relationships. The Field Service Engineer documents machine conditions, recommends performance improvements, and trains customers on proper operation and maintenance to maximize productivity. Acting as a trusted service ambassador, this position requires frequent travel and direct customer interaction during installations, repairs, and service engagements. Locations: Work from home – St Louis, MO, Chicago, IL, Birmingham, AL, or Atlanta, GA.

Must-Have Skills, Experience, and Education:
• Hands-on experience troubleshooting electronics, digital circuits, wiring, mechanics, and hydraulics
• Strong customer service mindset with a focus on quality and professionalism
• Technologically savvy with experience using software tools and managing digital files
• Ability to work independently in a field-based, high-travel environment
• Strong communication skills for customer interaction and technical training

Requirements:
• Travel 100% Monday through Friday to customer sites (home on Fridays)
• Install, service, troubleshoot, and repair CNC fabricating machine tools
• Provide technical support to ensure optimal machine performance
• Document machine information, service findings, and improvement recommendations
• Train customers on equipment operation and maintenance
• Represent the company professionally during all customer interactions

Nice-to-Have Skills, Experience, and Education:
• Prior field service experience supporting CNC machine tools or industrial manufacturing equipment
• Experience working in sheet metal fabrication or industrial automation environments
• Mechanical, electrical, or electro-mechanical technical training
• Experience supporting customers in multi-site or international environments
