Orion Talent, the nation’s largest military recruiting firm, is currently recruiting transitioning or former military professionals for a Quality Assurance Inspector position with a renowned manufacturer and global supplier of high-pressure, high-speed centrifugal pumps.

Position Details
Location: Englewood, NJ
Compensation $80K-$95K depending on qualifications and experience!
Bonuses/Additional Compensation: Company bonus – 7.5% bonus eligible if company achieves plan. 10% if company exceeds plan x 1.1. Reimbursement of qualified expenses charged to personal card. Annual card fee reimbursed. Tools, Laptop, and personal phone plan reimbursed.
Shift: 6:00am-2:30pm, but flexible to meet work requirements.
Travel: Minimal domestic travel, possibility of international travel. <10%.

Position Description
As a Quality Assurance Inspector, you will be responsible for ensuring that customers are provided with finished products and services that meet required quality standards and contractual requirements. 70% of your time will be spent inspecting parts using manual gauges/micrometers and CMM, the remainder of your time will be spent on ISO administration and facilitating the Quality Review Board. Job responsibilities may include:
• Piece-part inspection at various stages of manufacturing from receipt of raw material to finished parts.
• Programming and use of CMM, PC-DMIS, or equal.
• Transacting in an ERP System, EPICOR 10 or equal to receipt inspection of purchased material and components.
• Reading and properly interpreting manufacturing drawings and an understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing standards.
• Inspection of assemblies and subassemblies.
• Inspection of manufacturing tooling.
• Layout and inspection of castings and piece parts.
• Development of requirements and review of material testing certifications provided by vendors and when necessary, by independent test facilities.
• Hydrostatic testing.
• Calibration of inspection instruments and gauges.
• Review weld procedures and inspect of both repair and production welds.
• Performance of NDT processes, such as MT and LP testing.
• Root-cause analysis to determine the cause of nonconformities and recommended solutions to repair and/or prevent reoccurrences.
• Develop and maintain QA/AC procedures and records (including calibration records and certifications received from vendors).
• Scheduling and interfacing with outside inspectors from customers or regulatory agencies.
• Site inspections and evaluations of supplier facilities, including foundries.
• Interface with and support manufacturing, engineering, and purchasing.
• LEAN manufacturing and production methods.

Position Requirements
• Ideal candidate will know various manufacturing methods such as sand and investment casting (including pattern making), forging, machining, welding, etc.
• Understanding of Industry QA standards, including MIL-I-45208A, ANSI/ASQC C1, and ISO 9001-2015.
• Five (5) years of experience in quality assurance and manufacturing in a machine-shop environment, preferably in the pump industry or military!
• Root Cause analysis, problem-solving, and corrective action implementation.
• Knowledge of relevant Industry standards, API, ASME welding, and pressure vessel code requirements.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications.
• Experience working within ISO or Military Standard Quality assurance systems.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of programs.
• Continuous improvement mindset and drive.
• Strong presentation and communication skills.
