Description
We are seeking Field Service Technicians to install, calibrate, and maintain environmental monitoring systems in hospitals, VA medical centers, blood banks, laboratories, clean rooms, and military installations. This role is a strong fit for military veterans with electronics, electrical, or IT backgrounds who enjoy independent field work and travel.
Location: Home-based with regional travel (Southeast Region, Raleigh NC)
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot monitoring equipment at customer facilities
- Calibrate and validate equipment to ensure accurate readings and regulatory compliance
- Diagnose electronic, mechanical, and network issues using test meters and diagnostic tools
- Read and interpret schematics, drawings, and technical documentation
- Complete detailed handwritten validation records following Good Documentation Practices
- Train customers on system use and provide project updates
- Maintain parts inventory and escalate complex issues to technical support
- Travel to customer sites within the assigned region
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3+ years of hands-on technical experience in electronics, electrical, instrumentation, or networking (military experience counts)
- Strong computer skills
- Ability to read schematics and use test equipment
- Clear handwriting and strong attention to detail
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and reliable personal vehicle
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and climb ladders
- Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and customer site requirements, which may include vaccinations, clean room gowning, and respirator use
Preferred
- Networking, low voltage, or Cat5/Cat6 experience
- Calibration, validation, CQV, or temperature mapping experience
- Experience in hospitals, labs, pharma, or other regulated environments
- Experience working on military installations
- Military backgrounds such as Army 94H, 68A, 94E, 94F, 25B; Navy ET, FT, IC, EM; Air Force PMEL, 4A2X1, 3D1X2; Marine Corps 2871 or 28XX
