Position Details:
Title: Field Service Technician
Location: Des Plaines, IL (Chicago)
Shift or Travel: Day shift with on-call rotation 6–8 times/year (including weekends & holidays); travel within a 4–5 hour radius. Some overnight travel required, especially during first 90 days for training.
Compensation: $32–$35/hr; hourly rate paid “portal to portal” (from home departure to return)
Benefits:
• Company car or $650/month car allowance + mileage reimbursement (vehicle must be <7 years old if personal)

• Install, maintain, and service company products at hospital sites
• Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical and electrical equipment using test instruments
• Measure and adjust digital/analog instrumentation with calibration tools
• Perform piping of copper, brass, and stainless steel
• Read/red-line P&ID and electrical schematics
• Conduct product in-service training for customers
• Promote and maintain excellent customer relationships through professional conduct
• Complete timely service reports, expense reports, and documentation
• Maintain an organized service vehicle with tools, manuals, and parts
• Monitor chemical orders, contracts, and renewals

Requirements:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license with clean record
• 3+ years of experience with industrial electrical (single and 3-phase) wiring and controls
• Experience with water and pneumatic process control systems
• Skilled in use of diagnostic test equipment (volt-ohm meters, amp probes, precision calibration tools)
• Ability to lift 50 lbs unassisted and work in tight spaces (crawl/climb)
• Ability to travel extensively with short notice; flexible availability including nights/weekends/holidays
• Must meet all credentialing requirements to access hospital sites
