Position Description
As a Superintendent (Commercial), your responsibilities will include:
• Plan, staff, and supervise the construction of all projects assigned to you, so as to ensure that safety, profitability, quality, schedules, and Owner/Architect relationships are all maintained at acceptable levels.
• Be responsible for all field operations of the construction projects assigned to them, as well as the coordination with the Project Manager to ensure the timely arrival of all Subcontractors and materials. The Superintendent reports to the Project Manager on all job-related issues, and they work together as a team to accomplish the goals of their project.
• Become intimately familiar with the plans, specifications, estimate, and contract for their project.
• Develop a relationship with the Architect, Owner, local authorities, building inspectors, and Subcontractor representatives.
• Notify Project Manager of any estimate deficiencies immediately.
• In conjunction with the Project Manager, develop a detailed schedule showing the sequencing of each work activity and durations.
• Determine the staff needed to maintain the schedule and properly supervise the work.
• Review staffing needs with the Project Manager and Operations Manager.
• Assist in recruiting, hiring, training, and development of assistant superintendents, field engineers, foreman, and PEs.
• Develop a Logistic Staging Plan, including points of access to the site, trailer location, crane location, temporary power, and water location.
• Study the equipment needs of the project and determine the proper sizes and numbers of trailers, cranes, and hoists, as well as temporary power and water capacity.
• Analyze security needs for job site and implement same. Notify local authorities of the job’s presence and request off hour patrols.
• Review available company owned equipment for compatibility with job needs.
• Review Subcontractor and supplier pricing with the Project Manager.
• Assist Project Manager in preparing a buyout schedule which sets dates for the issue of each purchase order and subcontract.

Position Requirements
• Education or equivalent training, typically found in four-year degree or certification programs.
• 10 years’ experience or 15 years’ related experience.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects activities in a dynamic fast-paced environment.
• Superior communication and organization development skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with and manage cross functional teams.
• Experience with Procore and Microsoft Office.
• (Prefer) - OSHA certification.
• Project scheduling experience.
• Document control experience.
• Ability to travel and or relocate within the United States.
