Position Description Summary:

Production Coordinator coordinates and tracks the purchase of raw materials, parts and finished products between departments and final destination. Monitors material requirements and tracks movement with purchasing, receiving, production and shipping. Ensures material inventory is sufficient to meet current production schedule or inventory requirements. Inputs data into ERP system to track job progress for reporting.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Promote and adhere to the Core Values and Behavior Code.
  • Interface with work order processing to troubleshoot bill of material inaccuracies.
  • Assist Operations Manager in ensuring materials are present with each job order released to production.
  • Review job folders to ensure all drawings, procedures and quality forms are present prior to production starting.
  • Prepare material shortage reports through ERP and expedite job material shortages to meet the production schedule.
  • Track NCR's (non-conformances) to ensure rework is completed to maintain production schedule. Contact responsible department for responding to NCR with rework instructions, follow up for any material purchases and expedite for completion.
  • Prepare trucking schedule for subcontract material shipments to Butler Weldments suppliers.
  • Support the manufacturing team with the resolution of production issues which affect the overall production operation to maximize efficiency.
  • Assist production management with process and techniques to produce and deliver quality parts in accordance with schedule.
  • Move materials to workstations with forklift.
  • Track and provide job status, communicate needs and issues, and recommend solutions to production management to maintain the schedule.
  • Required to wear appropriate PPE as required by job duties.
  • Strive to develop personal and professional skills.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

Education/Experience:

  • Associates or Bachelors' Degree, preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Material handling experience.
  • Experience with ERP systems.
  • 5 + years' experience in a manufacturing environment.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Proven written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Forklift operator
  • Strong problem solving, organizational and math skills.
  • Detail oriented.
  • A desire to teach and share knowledge with others.
  • Adaptability and flexibility to shift priorities based on the organizations' needs.
  • Self-motivated and able to exercise independent judgment and make sound decisions, take ownership/accountability and operate with minimal supervision.
  • Integrity, professionalism, discretion and ability to maintain confidentiality are essential.

Physical Demands/Work Environment:

This full-time position operates in both a professional office and production environment. Use of computer, telephone and other office equipment throughout the day as needed to conduct business. Physical effort consists of frequent handling of light to average weight and materials and visiting work areas. Work performed requires constant alertness and activity, concentrated mental and visual attention required.
