Description
The Maintenance Technician supports 2nd shift operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, working closely with lead technicians and production operators to ensure equipment reliability and uptime across multiple facilities.
This is a hands-on role focused on mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, precision repairs, and preventive maintenance. The technician will utilize a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to document work and manage maintenance activities. The ideal candidate is a strong problem-solver who can work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
Primary Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical systems
- Perform precision machine repairs and component replacement
- Read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics and prints
- Utilize CMMS to document maintenance activities and manage work orders
- Travel between Troy, Piqua, and Kings Chapel facilities as required
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production equipment
- Troubleshoot PLCs, VFDs, and electrical control systems
- Diagnose and repair pneumatic and hydraulic systems
- Use precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, multimeters)
- Safely perform work at heights using appropriate equipment
Must-Have Skills, Experience, and Education
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills
- Experience with drive systems, bearings, welding, cutting, drilling, threading, and layout work
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics
- Electrical troubleshooting experience, including PLCs and VFDs
- Pneumatic and hydraulic system troubleshooting experience
- Experience using CMMS systems
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong problem-solving and logical thinking skills
- Ability to work safely at heights
- 2-year Electronics degree preferred (Electro-Mechanical preferred)
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Advanced experience with electrical control systems
- Experience working in multi-plant environments
- Military mechanical or electrical background
- Additional certifications in electrical or industrial maintenance
