Description
The Field Service Engineer is responsible for performing repair, maintenance, installation, and troubleshooting of semiconductor capital equipment at customer sites. This role includes working in cleanroom environments and supporting equipment performance through preventive maintenance and diagnostics.
The position involves hands-on technical work, on-the-job training, and collaboration with experienced engineers to develop skills in equipment installation, repair, and system performance. The engineer will also interact with customers to ensure satisfaction and maintain professional relationships.
Must-Have Skills, Experience, and Education
• Bachelor’s degree, associate degree, or equivalent military training in electronics, engineering, or related field with at least 2 years of relevant experience
• Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics and diagrams
• Ability to interpret operation manuals and determine root causes of equipment failures
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
• Ability to work in confined spaces and perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods
• Ability to work in cleanroom environments while wearing appropriate safety equipment
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics and diagrams

• Participate in on-the-job training and shadow experienced engineers
• Maintain current knowledge of equipment through training and technical materials
• Execute assigned project tasks under supervision
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and internal teams
• Represent the organization professionally at customer sites
