Description
As a Field Service Engineer – Proton Therapy, you will support the installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of advanced proton therapy equipment used in cancer treatment. This highly technical position combines electrical, electronic, mechanical, computer, and networking troubleshooting in a customer-facing healthcare environment.
You will perform system checkout, equipment upgrades, Customer Acceptance Procedure (CAP) activities, and technical diagnostics while ensuring proton therapy systems operate safely, reliably, and according to manufacturer specifications. You will also serve as a technical liaison with healthcare customers, provide equipment training, and support other proton therapy centers when required.
Must-Have Skills, Experience, and Education
- Strong technical background in electrical, electronics, mechanical, nuclear, avionics, or related systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair complex electromechanical equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, schematics, and procedures.
- Intermediate proficiency with mechanical and electrical diagnostic tools.
- Strong customer-facing communication and technical support skills.
- Ability to work independently in a highly regulated environment.
- Ability to work a rotating schedule, including day and night shifts.
- Ability to travel up to 30%.
- Military technical training or equivalent technical experience preferred.
- Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills.

Requirements
- Install and commission proton therapy equipment and ancillary systems.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, service, and repair complex equipment and systems.
- Perform system checkout and verify equipment meets operational and quality requirements.
- Install equipment upgrades, hardware, software, PCs, and networking systems.
- Follow technical documentation, service procedures, and company guidelines.
- Perform Customer Acceptance Procedure (CAP) activities.
- Demonstrate equipment operation and basic maintenance to customers.
- Train customers on system operation and maintenance.
- Serve as the technical liaison between the company and customer organizations.
- Diagnose customer issues and determine appropriate responsibility for resolution.
- Coordinate and review activities of Installation Representatives when required.
- Support other proton therapy centers as needed.
- Travel to customer sites and other proton therapy centers when required.
- Work a rotating monthly schedule consisting of approximately three weeks of day shift and four weeks of night shift, with 12-hour shifts.
