Description

A leading industrial gas and process systems company is seeking an experienced I&E Technician to support the operation, maintenance, and reliability of bulk gas generation facilities. This is a veteran-friendly environment, with strong alignment to candidates from technical military backgrounds such as Navy Electrician's Mate (EM/EMN), Electronics Technician (ET/ETN), and Nuclear Machinist Mate (MMN).


Basic Job Functions

  • Perform installation, maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of instrumentation, electrical, and control systems
  • Maintain and troubleshoot PLC/DCS systems and process control loops
  • Support operation of bulk gas generation systems, including startup, shutdown, and performance monitoring
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on compressors, pumps, valves, and associated rotating equipment
  • Interpret and maintain P&IDs, electrical schematics, and technical documentation
  • Coordinate and execute maintenance schedules, including working with contractors and vendors
  • Support continuous improvement projects to enhance equipment reliability and plant performance
  • Ensure compliance with safety procedures including LOTO, permitting, and environmental standards
  • Monitor system performance and make adjustments to maintain optimal operating conditions
  • Provide technical support during outages, troubleshooting events, and plant restarts

Must-Have Skills, Experience, and Education:

  • 5+ years of experience in instrumentation, electrical, or controls within an industrial environment
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with instrumentation systems (4-20mA, control valves, transmitters, analyzers)
  • Experience with electrical systems (<600V), including motors, breakers, transformers, and UPS systems
  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, electrical schematics, and technical drawings
  • Experience working with PLC or DCS control systems
  • Strong understanding of industrial safety practices and procedures
  • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment

Nice-to-Have Skills, Experience, and Education:

  • Experience with gas processing, chemical plants, or industrial process systems
  • Familiarity with analyzers such as gas chromatographs and purity analyzers
  • Experience with control loop tuning and process optimization
  • Technical degree, apprenticeship, or equivalent hands-on training
  • Experience working with rotating equipment and mechanical systems
