Description
The Electrician is responsible for installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining commercial electrical and lighting systems within a large commercial facility. This role performs preventive maintenance, repairs, equipment installations, and electrical system upgrades while ensuring all equipment operates safely and efficiently. The Electrician partners with customers and facility teams to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime. This position is ideal for experienced commercial electricians, maintenance electricians, industrial electricians, facilities electricians, or military electrical professionals seeking a stable Monday-Friday schedule with excellent pay, overtime opportunities, and long-term career growth.
Must-Have Skills, Experience, and Education:
- High School Diploma, GED, Trade School Diploma, or equivalent experience.
- Completion of a formal electrical apprenticeship program.
- 3-5 years of commercial electrical experience.
- Strong knowledge of commercial electrical systems and lighting controls.
- Experience installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical equipment.
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical systems and identify equipment failures.
- Experience working with:
- Motors
- Switches
- Controls
- Wiring
- Pumps
- Compressors
- Fans
- Electrical panels
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
- Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Strong troubleshooting, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and safely climb ladders and stairs.
- Wisconsin Journeyman Electrician License preferred.
Requirements:
- Install, repair, and maintain commercial electrical and lighting systems.
- Perform preventive maintenance and equipment inspections.
- Install new electrical equipment and system components.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical failures to minimize downtime.
- Repair and replace motors, controls, switches, wiring, gauges, valves, pumps, compressors, condensers, fans, and related electrical equipment.
- Review maintenance history and develop preventive maintenance schedules.
- Ensure all equipment operates safely and complies with company standards.
- Deliver high-quality customer service and technical support.
- Utilize CMMS to document maintenance activities.
- Follow all company safety policies and electrical best practices.
- Work collaboratively with facility maintenance and engineering teams.
Nice-to-Have Skills, Experience, and Education:
- Wisconsin Journeyman Electrician License.
- Master Electrician License.
- Low-voltage or high-voltage electrical experience.
- Commercial or industrial facilities maintenance experience.
- Data center electrical experience.
- Panel building and electrical controls experience.
- Cabling and wiring installation experience.
- Preventive maintenance experience.
- Military electrical backgrounds including:
- Electrician's Mate (EM)
- Interior Electrician (CE)
- Power Generation Equipment Repairer (Army 91D)
- Prime Power Production Specialist (Army 12P)
