Description

As a Controls Service Technician, you will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing building control systems to ensure reliable and efficient operation. This role supports customers through preventive maintenance, calibration, system modifications, and customer training while maintaining detailed documentation and meeting commissioning and operational standards. You will work independently in the field and serve as a technical resource for customers, ensuring high levels of system performance and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Perform inspections and assessments of control systems for physical damage, wear, and degradation
  • Conduct preventive maintenance including cleaning, part replacement, software updates, and system optimization
  • Troubleshoot control system issues and implement corrective solutions
  • Communicate effectively with customers to answer questions and resolve technical issues
  • Educate customers on proper system operation, maintenance, and energy conservation practices
  • Recommend necessary repairs or system replacements to improve reliability and performance
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance, and service activities
  • Modify system databases to meet customer requirements and manufacturer specifications in accordance with company standards
  • Perform calibration, checkout, and commissioning of control systems and verify sequences of operation
  • Train customer personnel on temperature control systems and operational procedures
  • Update drawings and submit redlined documentation for as-built records
  • Support additional duties as service offerings and team needs evolve

Must-Have Skills, Experience, and Education

  • Ability to legally operate a company vehicle
  • Strong aptitude for computers and/or mechanical systems with willingness to learn
  • Ability to troubleshoot software and system integration issues
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical plans and specifications

  • Experience with building automation or control systems
