Corrosion Technician

Description

As a Corrosion Technician, you will perform inspections, testing, and maintenance on natural gas pipeline facilities to support system integrity and compliance. This hands-on field role develops your core technical skills in electrical surveys, atmospheric corrosion inspections, and isolation testing. You will work both independently and alongside pipeline operations personnel to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient pipeline functionality while maintaining compliance with company procedures and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities:

• Inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot natural gas pipeline facilities, including cathodic protection equipment, rectifiers, and ground-beds
• Support corrosion control systems, pipeline integrity practices, and related methodologies
• Conduct atmospheric corrosion inspections and electrical isolation tests
• Ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of pipeline facilities
• Partner with pipeline and plant personnel, field technicians, and contractors on maintenance and inspection activities
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements

Must-Have Skills, Experience, and Education:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid driver's license
• Reside within 30 miles of the reporting location
• Ability to perform physically demanding work in all weather conditions
• Willingness to work overtime, weekends, on-call, and travel overnight as required

Nice-to-Have Skills, Experience, and Education:

• 2+ years of experience as a technician or equivalent technical background
• Proficiency in standard office software applications
• Strong technical and analytical skills demonstrated through training or experience
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Knowledge of pipeline operations or natural gas facility maintenance
• NACE certification in corrosion control is a plus
