Orion Talent is helping a client hire a Project Developer in Portland, OR.
Salary: $90-95k
Position Description: Project Developer
The Project Developer shall be responsible for supporting the execution of all activities associated with project development. Includes management of greenfield, acquisition, and co-development assets. Position is based out of Portland, OR or Denver, CO. Primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Project Management
Support acquisition of lease, easement, and other land agreements via a land agent or direct landowner contact
Support the management of relationships with stakeholders, including elected officials, regulators, utilities, landowners and community
leaders, to support project development
Participate in policy outreach efforts to government officials regarding wind industry issues
Monitor Generation Interconnection studies performed by transmission providers and third parties
Participate in the environmental study and permitting process
Support the financial analysis and modeling of the project
Supervise project-level expenditures and invoice processing
Develop project budgets and schedule highlighting key milestones
Participate and support the negotiation of local agreements that address tax abatement, road use and decommissioning
Management, Communication and Reporting
Present development plans of a regular basis and prepare co-development leadership for upcoming major decisions and mitigations
Inform and collaborate with co-development steering committee on a regular basis
Liaise with all internal stakeholders as required to gain sign off and approval at appropriate milestones
Maintain solid working relationships and communication with in-house business development, engineering, wind resource,
construction, sales, service, legal and finance
Collaborate with engineering team and external consultants to evaluate site layouts and constraints, technology options, schedule
implication, interconnection applications and studies
Update tracking tools for permitting, real estate, and interconnection in order to summarize and communicate status, schedule and
associated risk of permitting, real estate, and interconnection deliverables
Regular updates to the co-development reporting process
Qualifications
Education, Training, and Skills Required:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Sales or Marketing.
Has a general understanding of the North American power sector, including legal/regulatory aspects, market environment, landscape
