Description
Seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Technician to support the operation and reliability of highly automated steel processing equipment. This role is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and improving electrical, automation, and control systems throughout the facility.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on troubleshooter who enjoys solving complex problems, working independently, and supporting critical production equipment in a demanding industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and maintain PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, motors, and industrial control systems
- Support Allen-Bradley automation platforms and Siemens drive systems
- Diagnose electrical, instrumentation, and process control issues
- Maintain medium- and high-voltage electrical equipment and switchgear
- Support major production areas including pickle line, cold mill, and related processing equipment
- Document maintenance activities and communicate effectively with operations and maintenance teams
- Assist with equipment upgrades, reliability improvements, and automation projects
Must-Have Skills & Experience
- Minimum 2 years of industrial electrical maintenance experience
- Strong troubleshooting ability with electrical and automation systems
- Experience with PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, motors, and industrial networks
- Ability to work independently in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment
- Willingness to work scheduled and unscheduled overtime as needed
Preferred Backgrounds
- Steel mill electrician
- Heavy manufacturing maintenance electrician
- Navy Nuclear EMN, EM, ET, MM
- Conventional Navy electrician or electrical technician
- Industrial maintenance electrician with automation experience
