Description

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for supporting plant operations and equipment reliability within an innovative circular manufacturing environment. This role performs troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance on industrial processing equipment used to produce sustainable materials from recycled feedstocks.
This position is ideal for hands-on maintenance professionals who enjoy solving complex equipment issues, supporting continuous manufacturing operations, and working in a fast-paced industrial environment. Maintenance Technicians partner closely with Operations and Engineering teams to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient production while supporting sustainability and operational excellence initiatives.

Must-Have Skills, Experience, and Education
• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification in maintenance, electrical, or mechanical disciplines preferred
• Minimum of 2 years of industrial maintenance experience within manufacturing, chemical processing, recycling, or industrial operations
• Experience troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems in an industrial environment
• Experience working with industrial 480V electrical systems, wiring, and controls
• Welding and fabrication experience including MIG and Arc welding
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation
• Working knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Strong troubleshooting, mechanical aptitude, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently while supporting team-based operations
• Strong communication skills and commitment to workplace safety
• Basic computer literacy including email and maintenance systems

Requirements
• Conduct routine and preventative maintenance on reactors, conveyors, pumps, rotating equipment, and production systems
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical controls including PLC systems, sensors, wiring, and industrial electrical equipment
• Maintain and repair mechanical systems including bearings, gears, hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, and fluid handling equipment
• Monitor and troubleshoot process parameters such as temperature, pressure, and flow rates
• Perform fabrication, welding, alignment, and millwright work to support plant operations
• Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, technical drawings, and electrical diagrams
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve reliability and reduce downtime
• Maintain maintenance documentation, work orders, and parts inventory records
• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, OSHA, EPA, and environmental safety standards
• Cross-train across multiple production and maintenance areas
• Support safe handling of industrial materials and byproducts
• Properly utilize required PPE, including respirators and hearing protection where required

Nice-to-Have Skills, Experience, and Education
• Experience troubleshooting PLC controls and automation systems
• Experience in chemical processing, recycling, or continuous-process manufacturing environments
• Millwright experience including equipment alignment and installation
• Forklift experience or ability to obtain certification
• Experience working in ISO-regulated industrial environments
• Exposure to high-temperature or high-pressure processing equipment
• Military maintenance experience in mechanical, electrical, utilities, or industrial specialties

Working Environment
This role operates within an active industrial processing facility and may involve exposure to industrial dust, oils, vapors, elevated work areas, and heavy manufacturing equipment. Personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirators, hearing protection, and other safety equipment, is required in designated areas.
Candidates must be physically capable of lifting up to 50 pounds, working at heights, and performing work in industrial environments.
