About The Role:

Reporting to the Operations Manager, our Production Supervisor will oversee daily operations on the production floor, ensuring efficient assembly and production of our low voltage switchgear products e.g. PDUs, RPPs and UL 891 switchgear. This role requires strong leadership, technical understanding of assembly processes and the ability to maintain quality, safety and delivery targets in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will be passionate about what they do and thrive in a fast-paced environment. The role demands strong people management and problem-solving skills.

What You'll Be Doing:

Production Management:

  • Supervise and coordinate assembly teams to meet production schedules and output commitments.
  • Monitor workflow and adjust resources to optimize efficiency and minimize downtime.
  • Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures and work instructions.

Quality Assurance:

  • Maintain compliance with electrical standards and company quality requirements.
  • Work with the QA team to conduct in-process inspections and implement corrective actions for non-conformances where required.

Safety & Compliance:

  • Enforce Health and Safety regulations on the production floor for all personnel.
  • Conduct regular safety checks and ensure proper use of PPE and tools.
  • Report and investigate incidents or near misses.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead, motivate and develop production staff to achieve performance goals.
  • Provide training and coaching on assembly techniques and safety practices.
  • Manage attendance, performance reviews and disciplinary actions when necessary.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and waste reduction.
  • Support lean manufacturing initiatives and implement best practices.
  • Contribute to Kaizen events and efficiency projects.

Coordination & Communication:

  • Liaise with planning, logistics and engineering teams to ensure material availability and resolve production bottlenecks.
  • Communicate progress and issues to management in a timely manner.

Must-Have Skills, Experience, and Education:

  • Technical qualification in Electrical Engineering or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • +5 years' experience in a supervisory role within electrical or switchgear manufacturing.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical / electrical assembly processes.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement tools.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and production reporting tools.
  • Ability to handle unexpected changes and maintain operational continuity.
  • Familiarity with switchgear components and manufacturing processes.
  • Capable of managing teams and fostering collaboration across departments.
