Wafer Operations Maintenance Specialist

Description

We are seeking a hands-on Wafer Operations Maintenance Specialist to support semiconductor manufacturing equipment. 

This is an excellent opportunity for mechanically and electrically inclined candidates who want to develop their equipment-maintenance skills in an advanced manufacturing environment. The Maintenance Specialist will perform preventive and proactive maintenance on production equipment while working closely with Operations, Process Engineering, and Equipment Engineering.

Prior semiconductor equipment experience is not required. Because our equipment is highly specialized, the company is looking for candidates with strong mechanical aptitude, basic electrical knowledge, the ability to follow technical documentation, and a willingness to learn.

The position can provide a pathway toward becoming an Equipment Maintenance Technician within our company.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive and proactive maintenance on semiconductor production equipment.
• Disassemble and reassemble equipment according to operating manuals, schematics, blueprints, and technical procedures.
• Use test and diagnostic equipment to perform equipment checks and identify potential issues.
• Replace filters, O-rings, seals, brushes, and other equipment consumables.
• Complete repetitive maintenance activities designed to improve equipment uptime and overall performance.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records using paper and electronic checklists.
• Support equipment spare-parts activities, including replacement-part delivery and component repair.
• Work closely with Operations, Process Engineering, Equipment Engineering, and other technical teams.
• Maintain a clean and organized manufacturing environment in accordance with 5S standards.
• Follow established safety procedures and maintain safe working practices at all times.

Must-Have Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in hands-on equipment maintenance.
• Working familiarity with electrical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical/mechanical schematics, maintenance manuals, and technical instructions.
• Comfortable using hand tools and performing equipment disassembly/reassembly.
• Ability to work a 12-hour day or night shift.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical maintenance work.
• Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to climb ladders and stairs and periodically kneel, bend, and work in confined spaces.
• Ability to wear a respirator and successfully complete required medical evaluation and fit testing.
• Must have lawful ability to access technical data and areas controlled by U.S. export-control regulations.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

• Previous industrial, manufacturing, mechanical, electrical, or equipment-maintenance experience.
• Preventive or corrective maintenance experience.
• Experience using electrical or mechanical tests and diagnostic equipment.
• Experience troubleshooting production or industrial equipment.
• Semiconductor manufacturing or cleanroom experience.
• Experience with equipment involving pumps, motors, sensors, valves, pneumatics, vacuum systems, or electrical controls.
• Military technical maintenance experience, particularly Navy MM/EM/ET/FC, Air Force maintenance/electrical specialties, Army mechanical/electrical maintenance, or similar backgrounds.
• Technician Certification Program (TCP) graduate.
