Description
The On-site Engineer is responsible for performing routine and advanced customer support activities involving the installation, modification, repair, and preventive maintenance of the company's automated equipment and systems. This position is based full-time at a customer site and plays a critical role in ensuring equipment uptime, system reliability, and customer satisfaction.
This role requires strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills, the ability to work independently, and a customer-focused mindset. The Field Service Engineer must be comfortable reacting to changing priorities such as tool downtime or escalations while maintaining a safe and professional work environment.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Install, modify, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on company equipment and systems (hardware and software)
- Perform preventive diagnostics and root cause troubleshooting to restore system functionality
- Interface directly with customers to ensure high levels of satisfaction and service quality
- Maintain compliance with company and customer safety policies and work protocols
- Obtain and maintain Equipment Service and Operation Certifications as required
- Submit required Service Reports, Status Reports, and documentation accurately and on time
- Respond effectively to changing priorities such as tool or production line downtime
- Support organizational and administrative duties as required by site leadership
Must-Have Skills, Experience, and Education
- High School Diploma required
- Associate of Science degree, technical certificate, or equivalent preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of related technical experience OR military technical training
- Strong electrical and mechanical background
- Excellent troubleshooting skills using a structured, root-cause methodology
- Ability to work independently and implement corrective actions
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
- Valid driver’s license with good driving record
- Ability to qualify for a company credit card and obtain a valid passport
- Ability to pass background screening through a third-party agency
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders/scaffolding, and use required PPE

- Experience supporting semiconductor, life sciences, laboratory automation, or high-precision equipment
- Prior field service or on-site customer support experience
- Military technical background (electronics, electro-mechanical, maintenance specialties)
